A conversation about Michiana Monologues

Program: WVPE Features

Reporter: Linville

Airdate: 02/06/2013

On February 15th, this year's performance of Michiana Monologues takes the stage at IUSB.

This live reader's theatre production has been going on for six years now - bringing to the stage the often funny and always insightful anonymous stories from women in our area.

The stories in this year's production include innovative approaches to sex ed, the challenges of writing an online dating profile, a reimagining of the phrase, "Because I said so," and experiences on coming out.

WVPE's Michael Linville recently spoke about the history of Michiana Monologues and this year's production with April Lidinsky, an Associate Professor of Women's and Gender Studies at Indiana University South Bend.

April is just one of the many people behind Michiana Monologues - which serve to enlighten and entertain audiences while providing financial assistance to organizations that aid women and their children.

Michael began by asking April, how the production got started.
