Gregory Lehman has been researching, experimenting, and evaluating green building options with two houses he has built in north Goshen. The first, with straw bale/cob walls, was built almost entirely from raw materials. The second is more of a conventional building style, but with several green features, including solar heating panels on the side of the house, instead of the roof. Lehman, owner of RGM Properties, says northern Indiana's relatively sun-starved climate requires a different type of solar design. He shares some of the first lessons he learned about costs associated with green building and working with raw materials.
