Mayors from 14 communities across northern Indiana and southwest lower Michigan are declaring June 2009 "Green Michiana Month." A proclamation ceremony held on Earth Day coincided with the dedication of Indiana University South Bend's Center for a Sustainable Future. Mike Keen, the center's director, and WVPE's Joel Barrett, a member of the local Sustainable Business Network and a catalyst for initiatives such as WVPE's Green Page and All Things Sustainable, talk with WVPE's Tony Krabill about the proclamation and other future initiatives.
