The 45th Annual Fischoff Competition Starts May 11

The Fischoff Competition is the largest chamber music competition in the nation and is its longest consecutively running competition.  On average, the yearly competition draws 125 ensembles in either the wind or string categories of three to six performers, with representation from 22 nationalities.  Since its inception, in 1973, more than 6,800 musicians have participated, with many going on to distinguished careers in music education and performance. 

The Fischoff  is committed to music education and partners with competition alumni to provide free, innovative music programs directly to children in their own schools and community centers.  Since 1995, the Fischoff Arts-in-Education Residency has served 70,000 community chilrden, including many underserved and at-risk children and youth.  In addition, Fischoff offers several programs to support and encourage area high school-aged musicians.
