Donnelly makes stop in South Bend

Senator Joe Donnelly stopped at the Charles Martin Youth Center in South Bend as part of his “Hoosier Highways” RV tour. The 6-day tour is part of Donnelly’s campaign launch, in which he travels the state and listens to voter concerns, as well as shares what he considers accomplishments of his first term in the Senate.

Donnelly said he  is happy to be back in his home region.

He said that the one thing he has learned in his time in  Washington, is that he can work with anybody.

“I’m your voice, I work for you,” said Donnelly, “And when I go to Washington, I’m taking your message back there because your voice, your message, what’s going on here in Indiana makes a lot more sense than DC and so I’m trying to make sure that every day, your life can get a little bit better.”

Donnelly said his campaign focuses on the needs of Hoosiers, including job creation and safety, and also focuses on service members, most notably, veterans.

Donnelly announced his campaign for reelection in Anderson on Monday.
