Governor Snyder's comment line shut down as lame-duck bills await signatures

Lawmakers sent more than 400 bills to Governor Rick Snyder during the lame-duck session. But Snyder's office will no longer be taking comments on those bills from constituents by phone or through its website.

The Snyder administration has shut down its constituent services division as the governor serves his last days in office. Snyder spokesman Ari Adler says that's because staffing is at an all-time low and equipment is being shut down.

But people who still want to give feedback on lame-duck session bills aren't completely out of luck. Adler says the governor's Twitter account and Facebook page are being monitored. He says replies are unlikely, but incoming messages will be shared with Snyder.

Among the bills awaiting Snyder's signature is one that would make it more difficult to complete a citizen-initiated ballot proposal.
