Rick Snyder wins another term as Governor and the Republicans almost run the table in statewide races.
Millions and millions of dollars were spent on Election 2014, but in the end not much has changed.
Rick Pluta gives us a rundown of election results from across the state and what these results mean for you.
Pluta says that while this race was supposed to be one of the closest in decades, that’s not how it went.
Gov. Snyder built an early lead and kept it.
In his victory speech, Snyder said his reelection is a sign of support for his administration’s business friendly policies, his takeover of Detroit, and his less combative style of governing. He said it’s “time to reinvent Michigan.”
This will be Governor Snyder’s final race for governor due to term limits. The rest of the Republican ticket fared well, as the increased voter turnout the Democrats were relying on failed to materialize.
One bright spot for Michigan Democrats was the decisive victory by Gary Peters, who is replacing Carl Levin in the Senate.
