St. Joseph County, Michigan Village Celebrates Magic This Weekend

Village and Township of Colon (via Facebook)

The Village of Colon in southwestern Michigan hosts its fifth annual "31 Flavors of Magic Festival" Saturday. It's organized by the local chapter of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. Spokesman Ron Carnell says the event is designed to expose people to a variety of magical traditions.

"Magic is a lot like music. There's country music, there's gospel music, there's all different kinds of music. Well, there's also all different kinds of magic, and that's exactly what we're trying to display during '31 Flavors of Magic,'" Carnell says.

This will be the last event of its kind, at least for a while. Carnell says festival organizers are looking for new opportunities. But that won't affect plans for the 82nd "Magic Get-Together" in Colon in August. It's an annual tradition there since 1933.
