Cassopolis School Board Member Censured For Facebook Posts

http://cassopolis.ss6.sharpschool.com/

The Cassopolis school board voted to censure member Sue Horstmann at their meeting Monday for making what the board deemed were inappropriate Facebook posts.

Horstmann’s posts were aimed at the board’s approval of the sale of the Red Brick School building to R & R Harvesting, a Florida based agricultural company.

Horstmann used explicit language while posting that she feared the facility would be turned into a migrant camp.

The sale is not official until the business meets state standards. There is no timeline for when the process will be completed.

Manager of R & R Harvesting Rosa Martinez wouldn’t confirm their plans for the Red Brick school, but says they hope to turn the building into something for the community if they get approved.

Cassopolis Schools Executive Administrative Assistant Lisa Cutting says the censure is the board's way of showing it doesn't agree with Horstmann's posts.
