Stephen Voss/NPR

At the end of today's 1A broadcast, host Joshua Johnson announced he is moving on from the show. His last day in the host chair will be Dec. 20. Johnson has accepted an anchor position with MSNBC. In an announcement from NPR the career "move to television is a dream come true for him (Johnson) and we wish him the very best."

Todd Zwillich will serve as a host starting on January 2 as the search to find a permanent successor moves forward.
