NEW: ISDH To Offer More Free COVID-19 Testing In Elkhart County Next Week

The Indiana State Dept. of Health announced it would offer more free COVID-19 testing next week in Elkhart County. Elkhart County will remain in Stage 4 through July 17 as the rest of the state moves to Stage 4.5 of the 'Back on Track' plan to reopen Indiana's economy.

ISDH is hosting the following free drive-thru clinics next week:

 

Goshen
July 6-10, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Team Rehabilitation
223 Chicago Ave.

Elkhart
July 6-10, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
North Side Gymnasium
300 Lawrence St.

ISDH is hosting free drive-thru coronavirus testing clinics this week in Goshen and Elkhart. As of the latest figures the state has reported, Elkhart County now has 3,003 cases and 42 deaths from COVID-19.

The details are:

Goshen:
Today-Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Team Rehab, 223 Chicago Ave.

Elkhart: Tuesday-Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
North Side Gymnasium, 300 Lawrence St.

Meantime, today Goshen Health issued new information. Based on COVID-19 testing being done at their facilities, the positivity rate is at 14.4%. The statewide positivity rate for testing is currently 9.5%.

“We’re still seeing many COVID-19 patients who require hospitalization, and the percent of positive tests continues to be high,” said Randy Christophel, President and CEO of Goshen Health. “We appreciate everyone who is helping to slow the spread of this virus by wearing a mask in public and taking the additional precautions of physical distancing, handwashing, disinfecting and staying home if you’re not feeling well.
