Tuesday is the deadline of Indiana’s so-called college promise scholarship for students who just finished their eighth grade year.

The 21st Century Scholarship program offers up to four years of paid tuition at a public Indiana college or university. It’s open to students in seventh or eighth grade. Most students who qualify for free or reduced lunch are eligible. Once in the program, students must meet a set of expectations through high school graduation, such as keeping at least a 2.5 grade point average.

The Commission for Higher Education is offering online enrollment assistance Monday June 29 6-7 p.m. For help go online at on Learn More Indiana’s Facebook page, facebook.com/LearnMoreIN and all social media accounts: Instagram @LearnMoreIndiana and Twitter @LearnMoreIN.

To enroll, students must apply by June 30 during their seventh and eighth grade year, but must apply no later than June 30 of their eighth grade year. For more information on the program, go to www.learnmoreindiana.org/scholars.

This is the 30th year of the program. More than 40,000 students have earned a college degree with the scholarship and nearly 100,000 students are enrolled in the program today, according to the Commission for Higher Education.
