With the movie Rocketman sparking buzz about Elton John, 88.1 WVPE presents Early Elton, a lively special spotlighting Elton John's early work from 8 remarkable albums released in three years from 1970- 1973.
Music historian Paul Ingles hosts members of the Early Elton Trio, based in New York City, talking about the charm, power and depth of the music Elton John made in the early days of his lengthy career. The spotlight is on these 8 albums: Elton John, Tumbleweed Connection, Friends, 11-17-70, Madman Across the Water, Honky Chateau, Don't Shoot Me I'm Only The Piano Player, and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
Members of the Early Elton Trio are Jeff Kazee, John Conti, and Rich Pagano.
