For The First Time In Months, No "Orange" Counties On Indiana's COVID-19 Map

IDOH

For the first time in more than two months, the Indiana Department of Health’s COVID-19 tracking map shows no counties in “orange,” which indicates high spread of the coronavirus.

In the WVPE listening area, LaPorte, Starke, Marshall, St. Joseph and Elkhart counties all maintained their “yellow” status from last week, which indicates moderate spread of the virus.

Kosciusko, Fulton and Pulaski counties all remained in the “blue” category, which indicates low viral transmission.

The only county that saw conditions change was LaGrange County, which moved from the yellow to the blue this week.

For the first time since mid-March, no counties are in the more serious orange category. Nearly two-thirds of all Hoosier counties are now in the blue, the highest percentage since late March.

According to the state’s vaccine dashboard, just over 42 percent of eligible Hoosiers have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
