"Get The Devil Out" - Alleged Comment By Man Implicated In Silver Alert & Accused Of Attacking Woman

St. Joseph Co. Jail

THE LATEST:

Today the St. Joseph County Prosecutor charged 31-year-old Adam Rushing with criminal confinement, strangulation and intimidation.

According to charging documents, a woman staying at the same home where Rushing's children were says that he woke her up Monday evening and assaulted her, shoving his thumbs into her eyeballs and stating "he was going to get the devil out" of her.

The woman also told police she was strangled by him and blacked out. When she was able to escape, Rushing's children were left behind. Charging documents indicate that by the time police were made aware of this, they were unable to find Rushing or his young daughters. Police say the children were ultimately dropped off at Rushing's brother's home.

Rushing is being held without bond until his initial hearing Friday.
