Tuesday night former Vice President Joe Biden spoke at Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor. He stressed bipartisanship and respect in his remarks.

It was the first in this year’s speaker series from the Economic Club of Southwestern Michigan. Joe Biden drew a large crowd for his prepared remarks and for a Q and A session.

Biden spoke about respect and dignity across the aisle. He said “It’s hard to dislike someone when you get to know them as a person, not as a political opponent.”

Dave Frazer from Edwardsburg was at the event. He also attended the same high school as Biden in Delaware...though their paths didn’t cross much. Frazer said the lessons on respect and equality is something he remembers from high school.

“The Norbertine Fathers who were our teachers stressed that to all the students there. They treated us with dignity and respect and they expected us to treat other people with dignity and respect.”

Biden also addressed the calls for him to run for President, he said he hasn’t made a decision yet.

He said he won’t run unless he feels he can "give it all my attention, all my effort, all my heart and all my soul."
