Latest State Map Shows Improvement In Some Local Counties, Worsening Conditions In Others

IDOH

The latest update to Indiana’s color-coded COVID-19 tracking map shows a mix of improving and worsening conditions, locally.

Three counties in the WVPE listening area are in the “orange” category, which indicates high spread of the coronavirus. Elkhart and LaPorte counties maintained their orange status from last week, while LaGrange County moved to the orange from the less-serious “yellow” category.

However, two counties – Fulton and Pulaski – moved from the yellow to the least-serious “blue” category this week, which indicates the lowest spread of the virus.

Starke, Marshall, St. Joseph and Kosciusko counties all maintained their yellow status, which indicates moderate spread of the virus.

Statewide, the number of blue counties increased slightly this week, from 46 to 52. However, hospitalizations in Healthcare District Two, which covers most of the WVPE listening area, have also increased. They’re now as high as they were in late January.
