More Local Counties In Blue On Latest State COVID-19 Map

IDOH

The latest update to Indiana’s color-coded COVID-19 tracking map shows more “blue” and less “orange” in the WVPE listening area this week.

Three listener counties are now in the least-serious blue category, which indicates low spread of the virus. Fulton County maintained its blue status from last week, while Kosciusko and Pulaski counties moved to the blue from the more serious “yellow” category.

Two more counties saw conditions improve – Starke and LaGrange counties moved from the “orange” category, which indicates high spread of the virus, to the yellow this week.

However, one county saw conditions worsen. Marshall County moved from the yellow category to the orange this week. LaPorte and Elkhart counties are also still in the orange.

St. Joseph County maintained its yellow status, which indicates moderate spread of the virus.

Hospitalizations in healthcare district two, which covers most of the WVPE listening area, have shown improvement over the last week. They’re now at their lowest levels in a month.

Statewide, the number of blue counties decreased this week, from 47 to 41 – that’s about 45 percent of all Hoosier counties. Six counties across the state are in the orange, down from eight last week. Four of those orange counties are in Northern Indiana.
