POSTED PREVIOUSLY ON WED., OCT. 16:

Today St. Joseph Co. Prosecutor Ken Cotter showed surveillance video from the scene of the crash where Hannah Turgeon was killed outside the Linebacker in South Bend early Sunday morning.

Cotter says the 27-year-old from Colorado, who graduated from Notre Dame in 2014, was in the middle of the street talking to a rideshare driver when she was hit by a vehicle that then turned down side streets and left the scene.

Cotter says the video shows multiple groups of people who were near the area at the time of the crash and police hope to talk to those people for more clues.

Cotter said Hannah was with her father (also an ND alum) at the time of the crash. He was just feet away from his daughter when she was hit.

Investigators also described that the suspect vehicle is believed to be a dark color SUV, possibly an Escalade. The vehicle is described as having distinctive tail lights that consist of what is believed to be a horizontal bar of tail lights that extend across the back of the vehicle connecting to the regular side tail lights. Investigators say the suspect may remove this feature of the car following today's release of information.

Cotter said, "We met with Hannah's parents yesterday...they need your help, we need your help."

"If you were the person involved we are asking you to come forward," Cotter said.

PREVIOUS POST FROM MON., OCT. 14:

Today Notre Dame President, Fr. John Jenkins, commented on the death of a university alum over the weekend. Jenkins confirmed that Hannah Turgeon, 27, was a 2014 graduate of the university. Turgeon was struck by a hit and run driver early Sunday and died. Jenkins also said that Hannah's father was a 1981 Notre Dame graduate.

Jenkins expressed his condolences to the Turgeon family for what he called a "tragic death." He said, "We will keep her in our prayers."
