The Indiana Department of Health's latest color-coded COVID-19 tracking map shows over 70 percent of all Hoosier counties in the least serious “blue” category.
In the WVPE listening area, five counties are in the blue, which indicates low spread of the coronavirus.
Marshall, Fulton and St. Joseph County all maintained their blue status from last week, while Starke and Kosciusko counties moved to the blue from the more serious “yellow” category.
Two counties saw conditions worsen this week – Pulaski and LaGrange counties both moved from the blue to the yellow, which indicates moderate spread of the virus.
Elkhart and LaPorte counties both maintained their yellow status from last week.
A month ago, only 45 percent of Indiana’s 92 counties were in the blue category. Now, over 70 percent of all Hoosier counties are in the blue.
According to the state's vaccine dashboard, just over 45 percent of eligible Hoosiers are now fully vaccinated. That's about 1.6 percentage points higher than last week.
