Mallory Graham and Scott Tyler bring their vaudeville-style act to Wild Rose Moon’s 45th Radio Hour, telling stories, joking around, and singing their original songs in a celebration of the Moon’s reopening to the public. Traveling around the country in their 16 foot trailer with 2 giant dogs can lead to trouble, but it’s no problem for Rough and Tumble, because it gives them an excuse to write a song about it. In “You’re Not Going Alone,” Mallory and Scott provide buttery harmonies as they sing words of advice—you may not belong here anymore . . . but you’re not going alone. Songs like these slide off and out of the world this nomad couple inhabit and they feel lived—with a capital “L.” Scott provides remarkably clean and tasteful lead work on his Martin guitar, and Mallory’s soaring vocals lift each song in almost operatic splendor. This episode also features Plymouth songwriter, Doug Hammond, tenderly delivering an original song he conjured up on his back porch while watching a spider.
