South Haven Residents Vote To Ban Marijuana Businesses

Voters in South Haven decided on a ballot proposal Tuesday on opting in or out of Michigan's law that legalizes recreational marijuana.

The way that the proposal was worded, a "yes" vote meant a voter was choosing to ban marijuana-related business.  A "no" vote meant a voter did not want the ban.

According to unofficial vote totals out of Van Buren County, there were 645 "yes" votes and 537 "no" votes.

That means South Haven will not allow marijuana businesses.

The group Concerned Citizens of South Haven posted on Facebook, "Congrats South Haven on banning marijuana businesses! It's just too bad that our ballot measure only lasts one year."
