The mayor said he and his staff would rather educate than fine or tow code violators but they'll do it if needed

Earlier this month, St. Joseph County officials created a new code enforcement division for unincorporated parts of the county — and enforcement begins this Friday.

For the first time, residents of the unincorporated portions of St. Joseph County will be able to report code violations such as tall grass, junked cars or trash in yards.
