DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Pete Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, and Bernie Sanders, a Vermont senator, remain strong contenders. Iowa operatives say even as he's slipped in the polls, Sanders can't be written off — he's added a number of seasoned staffers to his team and maintains tens of thousands of volunteers and a strong grassroots network of activists that helped him pull off a surprise near-tie in the 2016 caucuses.

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg says he would not have pressured Democrat Al Franken to resign from the Senate at the time some of his 2020 rivals did.

Tonight Pete Buttigieg is scheduled to be on a live town hall on the MSNBC show "Hardball." 

The program starts at 7pm ET. It will be broadcast live from Fresno, California. 

Last month, Buttigieg appeared on a one hour live town hall on the Fox News Channel that was broadcast from New Hampshire.

In March he was featured on a CNN live town hall one hour broadcast from Austin, Texas.

South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg is holding his first ‘Mayor’s Night Out’ since officially announcing his candidacy for President in April.

 The Mayor’s Night Out events in South Bend are usually a chance for residents to meet one on one with the Mayor and other city officials about any problems they’re having.
