Trump Comments On Pandemic At Michigan Rally: "We Did It Just The Right Way"

Reeling from another crisis of his own making, President Donald Trump tried to refocus attention on his Democratic rival at a rally in battleground Michigan Thursday as he pushed to move past revelations that he purposefully played down the danger of the coronavirus last winter. But the virus controversy followed him as he faced new pushback from local officials worried about the growing size of his rallies and his campaign’s repeated flouting of public health guidelines intended to halt the COVID-19 spread. That includes Michigan’s Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who raised alarms about Thursday’s event. Trump, however, reveled in the crowd of several thousand, packed shoulder-to-shoulder in a cavernous airport hangar, mostly without masks.

Pete Buttigieg Has A New Book Set For Fall, 'Trust'

NEW YORK (AP) — Pete Buttigieg's next book has a unifying message. Liveright Publishing announced Wednesday that the former Democratic presidential candidate and South Bend, Indiana, mayor had written "Trust: America's Best Chance," scheduled for release Oct. 6. Liveright says the book combines history and personal reflections in an "urgent and soul-searching" exploration into creating a stronger democracy. Buttigieg's previous book, the memoir "Shortest Way Home," was a bestseller which sold more than 100,000 copies.

Buttigieg Book Talk In South Bend Tuesday Night

(SOUTH BEND) - Pete Buttigieg will be at the St. Joseph County Public Library in downtown South Bend Tuesday night at 6:30 to talk about his book entitled "Shortest Way Home." 

The South Bend mayor and possible democratic presidential candidate kicked off his book tour last month at the Century Center at a ticketed event.
