WVPE's Photo of the Week features a balance of darkness and light along the shores of Lake Wawasee on the morning of May 15, 2020. Thanks to Dawn Burns for this submission. She says the scene struck her as being strange and beautiful all at the same time as she waited for the thunderstorm that loomed.

Photo Of The Week - Lake Wawasee Tranquility

Dawn Burns

It's been a crazy week between the markets, coronavirus and primary elections.  So let's all just take a deep breath and enjoy a tranquil sunrise. This image comes to us courtesy of Dawn Burns of Syracuse, Indiana. Dawn captured this scene on Lake Wawasee on August 5, 2019, at 6:31am when it was a balmy 62 degrees. She says she was struck by the quiet and still nature of the lake that morning with what she calls a perfect balance of mist and color. Dawn says she happened upon this image during one of her regular morning walks to the lake.
