INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana’s expanded coronavirus testing program is set to start Wednesday at 20 sites around the state, although those tests still won’t be available to everybody. South Bend, LaPorte and Elkhart are among the 20 sites opening. The sites will be at Indiana National Guard Armory locations.

LaPorte Woman Gets Probation In Assault On Delta Flight

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — An Indiana woman who had been drinking wine before she attacked a Delta Air Lines crew and federal agents on a Michigan-bound flight has been sentenced to six months of probation.

Camille Krueger says she's "just so sorry" for the January 2018 incident aboard an international flight from Germany. The 63-year-old nurse had to be restrained for 90 minutes on the Delta plane after attacking her husband and crew members.

Investigators say Krueger of La Porte, Indiana, also head-butted federal officers who removed her from the plane.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The latest round of federal airport infrastructure grants to Indiana includes $4.74 million to Indianapolis International Airport for taxiway and apron rehabilitation and security enhancements.

The Federal Aviation Administration on Wednesday announced a total of $478 million in infrastructure grants nationwide, including more than $17 million for Indiana.

LaPorte County Pays $132,000 In Computer Attack Ransom

LAPORTE, Ind. (AP) — Officials in a northern Indiana county paid about $132,000 in ransom to hackers who took over some of the county's computers.

LaPorte County commissioners president Vidya Kora says the payment was made with the virtual currency Bitcoin after FBI experts weren't able to unlock the county's data. Once paid off, the hackers gave the county a decryption key for staffers to access the locked computers.

Teacher by day and rapper by night, Joe Ruiz, may not have won NPR's Tiny Desk Contest - but it has given him a big break. He and his fellow musicians in Rhymer/Educator will open for Vanilla Ice July 14th at the LaPorte County Fairgrounds.

The Chesapeake and Indiana Railroad will invest about $600,000 dolalrs into railroad improvements in LaPorte County from Wellsboro to LaCrosse.


The six hundred thousand dollars earmarked for infrastructure improvements across the approximate 28 miles of railroad come from a mix of grants from the Indiana Department of Transportation and private funds. Railroad officials say they are trying to keep up with business demands in the area.
