membership campaign

WVPE's Justin Hicks has some thoughts on spring.

He's excited the N.Y. Mets are in spring training (though he fears that may be the best part of their season.)

He's thankful to see mostly grass instead of snow on the ground.

And he's viewing spring as a time of renewal (yes, financial renewal) for WVPE listeners who rely on the station for news, information and entertainment.

It's Never Too Late To Support WVPE

Mar 31, 2020

WVPE is social distancing, but you can still stay close and help power public radio.

We just wrapped up our modified membership campaign with online donations only. Thanks to all of you who contributed to the success of  your local NPR station.

This couple from Rochester sat down with WVPE earlier this year to inform, entertain and inspire you to support your NPR station, 88.1 WVPE.

I'm going to do something out of the ordinary by stepping in as a Michiana Chronicles commentator. Of course this is the Fall Pledge Drive, so maybe it won’t sound too different. WVPE has been a part of NPR since 1991. That's 28 years of service to the community.

We weren’t original National Public Radio members; that started in 1970. Today, it's a news source heard by 40 million people each week.  No change was more significant than that infamous day in Sept. 2001 when the network audience doubled, and the network became less analysis of news and more live coverage…

Goals.

We have so many goals we are trying to meet every hour that we are on the air actively urging you to make a contribution during the Spring 2019 Membership Campaign.

When we hit those goals, we celebrate.  And what better way to celebrate than by ringing a cowbell?

So put the cowbell in public radio this week. Do your part and call 888 399 9873 or go online to wvpe.org and become a new member, a renewing member or a sustaining member. Be the person to put us over the top, so we can hear MORE COWBELL!

One of Michiana Chronicles essayists, Jeanette Saddler-Taylor, regularly volunteers to answer phones during WVPE's membership campaigns. So, we’ve asked her to talk about that experience.

If Michiana Chronicles is part of your Friday routine and your Friday wouldn’t be the same without it, please make sure you are a member of WVPE by calling 888-399-9873.

Or, if you’re shy, as Jeanette claims to be, give online by clicking on the Donate tab.

WVPE's 2018 Fall Membership Campaign is underway! If you are not a member, call now 888-399-9873 or click on the donate button. We rely on listeners like you to support the station and pay for the programs that you rely on, as well. If you have been a member but are unsure of your membership status or know that it's been awhile since you contributed, please consider becoming a sustaining member. Thank you for supporting your NPR station, 88.1 WVPE.
