The Morris Performing Arts Center has announced that The Lion King performances are being impacted by the coronavirus threat. 

The following information was posted on their website: 

Governor Eric J. Holcomb has issued an order to cancel or postpone gatherings of 250 people or more in Indiana for the foreseeable future. As a result, Broadway in South Bend will postpone all remaining performances of THE LION KING occurring the evening of March 12 through March 22, 2020 following this decision.

The show is set in 1945 as U.S. soldiers come home from World War II. It revolves around PFC Donny Novitski who wants to win a national music competition. 

The show's creator has won multiple Tony Awards, including one for Hamilton.

You can see Bandstand Friday, Jan. 24 at 8pm; Sat., Jan. 25 at 2 & 8pm and Sun., Jan. 26 at 2pm.

A full-length ballet version of Romeo and Juliet in two acts will be performed starting at 7:30pm on Friday. 

The National Ballet Theatre of Odessa, Ukraine brings 55 talented Ukrainian ballet stars to present the most passionate romantic tragedy of love.

Tickets are on sale for performances at the Morris Performing Arts Center of Disney's The Lion King. The show runs March 4-22, 2020 in South Bend. The show has won six Tony Awards, including Best Musical. More than 232 puppets of the animal kingdom come to life on stage during the performance.
