Tuesday is election day across Michiana.

In Indiana it’s municipal elections. Most city councils are on the ballot. South Bend and Elkhart have mayoral races. Goshen and Mishawaka have incumbent mayors running unopposed.

Voters in Northern Indiana have several chances to connect with candidates before the November municipal elections.

There will be debates, forums, and meet the candidate events in the next few weeks for voters in South Bend,  Mishawaka, and Elkhart.

Voters in Elkhart have a chance to meet the candidates on their primary ballots tonight at the Lerner Theatre.

At-large candidates for South Bend Common Council will answer audience questions at a forum tonight at Indiana University South Bend.

Voters pick three at-large candidates on the primary ballots on May 7th. The event, hosted by the American Democracy Project of IUSB and the South Bend League of Women Voters, is one of several candidate events being held across the area. The forum will be followed by one-on-one networking between candidates and voters. It starts at 6 in Northside Hall at IUSB.

The League of Women Voters of Elkhart County and the American Democracy Project of Indiana University South Bend have announced several forums to allow voters to compare candidates side-by-side and become more informed.
