The Indiana State Department of Health reported 67 additional confirmed deaths over the last week, bringing the state’s total to 2,567. The state announced more than 51,000 total confirmed cases, with more than 564,000 Hoosiers tested.

Restrictions On PPP Loan Conditions Eased

The Small Business Administration outlined changes made after President Trump signed the Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act into law on June 5. 

The law provides relief for small businesses forced to close during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Under the original legislation, 75% of loan money had to be spent on payroll. That number has been reduced to 60%. 

Three Months After the Floods, Michiana Still Cleaning Up

Three months after February’s record breaking floods, Michiana is still cleaning up the mess left behind. Disaster centers in the region are working to help residents with recovery efforts.

The FEMA disaster recovery centers in Elkhart and South Bend have only been open for about a month. So far $2.3 million dollars in aid has been handed out to nearly 1,900 registrants.

FEMA Center Still Handing Out Flood Aid, Holcomb Visits

While Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb was in Northern Indiana on Wednesday he visited the FEMA disaster assistance center in Elkhart.

The center in Elkhart is one of three in Northern Indiana providing help for those impacted by record flooding in late February.

Residents can apply for FEMA assistance, or for loans and help from the U.S. Small Business Association.

Holcomb greeted all the workers in the center, as well as a few people getting assistance.
