This Saturday you will have an opportunity to purchase children’s books at half-price at the Friends of the Elkhart Public Library April sale.
Books for early readers (including picture books), juvenile readers and teens are all arranged along one wall of the room behind where the novels are shelved. Hardcovers will be 50¢ and paperbacks 25¢. Starting children to be readers early in their lives pays great dividends later in life and here you will be able to do it inexpensively.
Additional bargains include books with green stickers priced at 25¢ either hardcover or paperback. Books with pink stickers or no sticker will be 10¢ hardcover or paperback.
As usual, we will be in the basement of the downtown Elkhart Public Library at 300 S. Second St. beginning at 9am and closing at 2:30pm. We accept cash, credit or debit cards. If you needs bags to carry your purchases out, we will have bags for you. Members of the Friends of EPL receive an additional 20% discount. Become a member at checkout and use your discount immediately.
If you can’t make it to the sale, remember our mini-libraries. We try to refresh them regularly and books there are free. Locations are in the parking lot between the Elkhart Clinic and the nursing home, in the common area at the Elkhart Aquatic Center, the parking lot at Wellfield Gardens, Jamestown United Methodist Church and at the corner of CR3 and Bernice Dr. in Jimtown.
