The IU South Bend Veterans Book Club will be meeting to discuss The Greatest Beer Run Ever: A Memoir of Friendship, Loyalty, and War. This funny and poignant memoir tells the story of a wild prank conceived in a bar to bring beer to friends serving in Vietnam. The starred Publishers Weekly review describes the book as “a fascinating, vividly narrated recollection of the chaos of the Vietnam War.” It was made into a movie in 2022.

We will meet in room 301 of the IU South Bend Schurz Library on the south side of campus and on Zoom. The Veterans Book Club is open to everyone in the community interested in veteran’s experiences, stimulating discussion and good books.
