"An institution truly interested in the truth would not have acted as MSU has," wrote the lead investigator.

For nearly 20 years, Larry Nassar was able to sexually abuse hundreds of women and girls thanks to his reputation as a respected sports doctor at Michigan State University.

Now that those same survivors have put Nassar behind bars for the rest of his life, their attention is focused entirely on holding MSU accountable – those who knew of Nassar’s abuse, those who should have known, and a culture that allowed a predator to flourish for so long.

One year after Nassar's sentencing, the university’s president, athletic director, and now interim president have stepped down. Three university officials are facing criminal charges. Multiple external investigations are underway. But the story’s not over. The timeline below will help you keep track of all the moving parts, who’s who, and what it means.
