Bethany Christian Students heading to DC to join national 'March for Our Lives'

A group of students and chaperones from Bethany Christian schools is headed to Washington DC this weekend to join the March for our Lives protest.

More than 40 people from Bethany Christian Schools in Goshen are busing to DC on Saturday to join protesters from around the country in what they’re calling the ‘March For Our Lives.’

The events grew out of the February shooting at a Florida High School. They’re largely organized by students to protest gun violence and call for stricter gun laws and safer schools.

Elizabeth Eby is one of the student organizers of the Bethany trip.

“I could speak the same voice and do the same words here but I feel like for me that it would make more of an impact to go DC and have my voice be heard there.”

Bethany Christian is supporting its students by donating the bus they will take to DC.

The event in the capitol also has sister marches across the country including in South Bend and Goshen, and St. Joseph, Michigan.
