I’m not much for making resolutions on Jan. 1. It feels like a setup for failure. Of course, it’s great to set intentions to try to be a better you. But the old “I’ll lose ten pounds by February,” or “I won’t eat any sugar or drink any alcohol until April” just doesn’t work for me.

After nearly 50 years in the music business, Neil Diamond is on top of the world. The singer has topped the U.S. and British album charts with his new release, Home Before Dark.

Singer Songwriter Dion
Singer Songwriter Dion. He's just released a new record of doo-wop tunes Deja Nu (Collectables 2000). In the late 1950s, Dion and his band the Belmonts topped the chart with several pop hits, earning him the status of teen idol. Dion split amicably with the band in 1960 and continued to write Top 10 hits until the British Invasion changed the pop preference. Now, in his 50s, he continues to produce, write and sing new material. He lives in Boca Raton, Florida.
Moody's downgraded U.S. credit rating
This means all three of the major credit rating companies of the world — the others being S&P Capital and Fitch — have now all moved the U.S down from the top rating.

Jaclyn Driscoll is the Jefferson City statehouse reporter for St. Louis Public Radio. She joined the politics team in 2019 after spending two years at the Springfield, Illinois NPR affiliate. Jaclyn covered a variety of issues at the statehouse for all of Illinois' public radio stations, but focused primarily on public health and agriculture related policy. Before joining public radio, Jaclyn reported for a couple television stations in Illinois and Iowa as a general assignment reporter.
