Daniel Howes is columnist and associate business editor of The Detroit News. A former European correspondent for The News, he has reported from nearly 25 countries on three continents and in the Middle East. Before heading to Europe in 1999, Howes was senior automotive writer and a business projects writer. He is a frequent contributor to NewsTalk 760-WJR in Detroit and a weekly contributor to Michigan Radio in Ann Arbor.

Lauren Onkey is the Senior Director of NPR Music in Washington, DC. In this role, she leads NPR Music's team of journalists, critics, video, and podcast makers, and works with NPR's newsroom and robust Member station network to expand the impact of NPR Music and continue positioning public radio as an essential force in music.

Nisa Khan is a digital intern for Michigan Radio. She is currently a senior in the University of Michigan’s School of Information, studying User Experience. Her experience includes being a news editor for The Michigan Daily, an Asian American Journalists Association fellow, a Knight Foundation/CUNYJ fellow, an intern for ProPublica, and an intern for the investigative team here at Michigan Radio. She’s so excited to be here!

Crissy Zamarron is a U of M alumna and has been a part of the U of M community in a variety of roles since graduating in 2013. As a student she spent two years interning for Michigan Radio in the Operations, Production, and Marketing departments wanting to soak up all of the knowledge she could about public radio. She is currently finishing up her master’s in Strategic Communication at MSU.
