Seitz Park

The South Bend Board of Public Works recently approved $5.3 million in projects around the East Race and riverwalk, including a new pedestrian bridge, new dock and upgraded stairways connecting the Jefferson Bridge to Howard Park.

Located under Seitz Park at the dam in the St. Joseph River just across from the Century Center, the 2.5-megawatt, 10 turbine hydroelectric facility has been in operation since May of this year.
