St. Joe County

The National Weather service has issued a heat advisory again for today. Heat index reading are expected to be between 98 and 103 degrees. Considering the dangerously high temperatures, the St. Joseph County Department of Health has issued an Extreme Heat Public Health Advisory urging residents to take several precautions including: Wearing appropriate clothing, staying cool indoors with air conditioning if possible, monitoring those who are at high risk and not leaving children or pets in cars.

COVID-19 cases are on the rise in St. Joseph County, Indiana, especially among people under the age of 30. This increasing infection rate among young people is a new trend.

NEW:

Friday St. Joseph County health officials announced a third death in the county due to COVID-19. The patient who died was a women in her 60's with multiple underlying medical conditions who had been hospitalized for several days.
