Human Trafficking Responder Training
Human Trafficking Responder Training
Every 30 seconds, someone in the world is sold into slavery, and an estimated 50% of those are children. Human trafficking is the world’s fastest growing crime, accounting for $150 billion in profit around the world per year. And according to the US Department of Homeland Security, it doesn’t just happen outside of the United States. There are approximately 1 million enslaved people in the United States today.
Constantine Public Schools and Women at Risk, Intl are partnering to bring experts in human trafficking to the Michiana area to educate anyone who cares about this issue to be trained as a “civilian first responder”— someone with the knowledge to recognize the signs of human trafficking, report it effectively, offer support to victims, and help their community stay safer.
Join us on Saturday, May 11, from 9 AM until 5 PM at Constantine High, School, 1 Falcon Drive, Constantine, Michigan. You will hear from Becky McDonald, founder and president of WAR, International, along with representatives from the Department of Homeland Security and survivors of human trafficking.
$15 per person includes all sessions, all materials, and lunch. Register online at the link provided below.
