The St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office has released information about a man found dead on a street Sunday morning in South Bend.

–South Bend Police Department officers (SBPD) were dispatched to the area of Marine Street and Indiana Avenue shortly after 7:30 a.m. this morning in reference to a man found lying in the street. He was found deceased at the scene, and the St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit (CMHU) was activated, pre protocol, due to the suspicious nature of his injuries. He has been positively identified as Trey Devante Martinez, 27 years old, of South Bend.
An autopsy has been scheduled for noon tomorrow, September 30th, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, for Mr. Martinez.
This remains an active and ongoing CMHU investigation. Investigators have interviewed several witnesses from the neighborhood and continue to follow up on leads.
