Four Marshall County Council members voted to remove the county's six Flock cameras to protect motorists' privacy, while three members said they're needed for safety.

The Marshall County Commissioners Monday voted 3-0 to change to annual contracts with Flock Safety for license plate readers, to allow more scrutiny of the system as public privacy concerns grow.

The South Bend Common Council this week filed a motion to appeal a recent ruling by St. Joseph Superior Judge Jamie Woods finding that recorded phone conversations involving police officers, capturing them saying allegedly racist things, violated privacy laws.
