New Day Intake Center organizers haven't sought federal money to build their new low-barrier facility and won't need it, but Trump's executive order ending support for their "housing first" approach could hurt the center's odds at winning federal money for operations once it opens.

The Community Foundation of St. Joseph County this week told New Day Intake Center officials they'll provide $250,000 toward the $14.3 million needed to break ground this summer.
