Three ministry-based early educations programs in Northern Indiana have received grants from Early Learning Indiana to help them improve in their Paths to QUALITY ratings.

The grants are funded through the Lilly Endowment and can be used for things like teacher training, facilities improvements, equipment or materials.

The idea is to help programs move to level three of the state’s Paths to QUALITY ratings so it can be considered  high quality.

Traci Marshall is with Early Learning Indiana, the non-profit that facilitates the grants.

“We have a lot of programs out there that do a great job, provide wonderful care but may have some physical barriers or some financial barriers that prevent them from meeting the requirements to participate in paths to QUALITY or to advance through the levels.”

Saint Anthony de Padua Catholic School in South Bend, Saint Pius X Little Lions Preschool in Granger, and Queen of Peace Catholic School in Mishawaka, will receive $82,200 between them for various facilities upgrades and professional development through the grant program.
