74,001 votes were cast, which County Clerk Chris Anderson said is a county record. However, Anderson said the county’s voter turnout – 59 percent – is about average. The difference, he said, was voter registration.
“We had more registered voters, so the percentage went down," Anderson said. "The previous highest turnout was in an election when there were 119,000 registered voters rather than 126,000 registered voters.”
The county went for President Trump by a margin of 63.24% to 34.71% for Joe Biden. Republicans won the county in all other state and national races.
