Jakob Lazzaro
Former Senior Reporter and Assignment EditorJakob Lazzaro came to Indiana from Chicago, where he graduated from Northwestern University in 2020 with a degree in Journalism and a double major in History. Before joining WVPE, he wrote NPR's Source of the Week e-mail newsletter, and previously worked for CalMatters, Pittsburgh's 90.5 WESA and North by Northwestern.
Jakob grew up mostly in Charleston, South Carolina, but was born in Stockholm, Sweden and lived in Sydney, Australia for several years in the late 2000s.
Jakob is currently working as a digital producer at 90.5 WESA, the NPR station serving Pittsburgh.

The Elkhart Common Council approved the city’s 2023 budget in a 5 to 4 vote Monday. It tops out at just over $100 million dollars, $7.4 million more than last year, and was opposed by the council’s Republican members.
