Leaders from South Bend, Mishawaka, and Elkhart say the local economy is strong.
Local businesses gathered for the annual State of the Region Economic Update.
Representatives from different cities talked about new and existing developments that they believe are proof of economic growth - like Mishawaka’s first parking garage, new residential units, and more parks.
Jeff Rea is the president and CEO of the South Bend Regional Chamber. He said more businesses are also a sign of a healthy economy.
“We’re all about driving economic growth. We’ve got a group of business leaders that have made major investments here in our area and they want to invest in a winner and they have so far.”
Rea said the local economy has been on a ten year high and is encouraged by the continued progress.
