The LaPorte County Sheriff's Department's Highway Interdiction Unit looks to make drug and gun trafficking arrests on the Indiana Toll Road through observing routine traffic violations.

Police agencies throughout St. Joseph County jointly asked for federal help to fight drug trafficking but said Tuesday they weren't ready to talk publicly about the effort.
