When asked whether Indiana’s stadium package is more beneficial to Indiana or Illinois, Rep. Earl Harris Jr. (D-East Chicago) said it’ll be “a win-win for both.”

The Indiana Black Legislative Caucus was already planning to focus on utilities in 2027, but caucus chair Earl Harris Jr. (D-East Chicago) says the outages have changed the conversation.

“It would mean a lot, in terms of labor and union jobs, in terms of building the stadium and everything that goes along with that — plus a lot of permanent jobs, which really gives an opportunity for young people to think about and have an opportunity to stay in Northwest Indiana and not look outside,” said Indiana State Rep. Earl Harris Jr. (D-East Chicago).

It hasn’t been able to convince the Chicago Bears to move across the state line, but State Representative Earl Harris Jr. (D-East Chicago), says he is seeing interest from a professional cricket league.
