At its first committee hearing Wednesday, Granger Republican Sen. Linda Rogers' bill to replace South Bend Community Schools' elected board with one appointed by the Indiana Secretary of Education drew overwhelming opposition from people who testified. Rogers said she will make unspecified changes based on their input.
